Get back on the pitch

Start with the symptom you can see. Change one thing at a time, then try the game again.

The game is still loading.

The player downloads the original game and its graphics when it opens. A first visit can take longer than a later one. If the loading message is changing, give it time to finish. If it stops progressing, use Reload below the player once and wait for the next attempt rather than repeatedly restarting the download.

The game needs a working internet connection, a current browser, and support for its graphics and runtime features. Try an updated browser with hardware acceleration enabled. An extension, a restricted network, or a browser setting may prevent required files from loading even when the rest of this page is visible.

The player is blank or shows a graphics error.

Close other demanding tabs or applications and reload the game. If you can open the game’s Settings, lower the graphics quality and test again. Browser graphics support depends on the device, its driver, and the browser’s acceleration settings; a different supported browser can help separate a browser issue from a network issue.

If the same device loaded the game before, consider what changed: a browser update, a new extension, a different network, or a graphics setting. Undo one relevant change at a time. Avoid clearing all browser storage as a first step, because stored game preferences or records may be affected.

WASD is scrolling the page or doing nothing.

Click or tap inside the game first. Keyboard input goes to the part of the page that has focus. Close an open game menu and check that the game is not paused. Then try driving in Free Play before entering a match.

If only one action is missing, open the game’s Settings and inspect its binding. The defaults include WASD for driving, Space or right mouse for jump, and K or left mouse for boost. A binding may have been changed or cleared. The controls guide lists the standard setup.

Mouse or touch controls feel wrong.

Keep the pointer inside the player when using mouse actions. Browser shortcuts or menus may apply when the pointer is elsewhere on the page. Use the game’s own pause control or Esc when you need to leave active gameplay.

On a phone or tablet, use Change Controls to inspect the available touch styles. Rotate the device for a wider field of view if possible. If touch controls disappear after a controller or another input device is used, tap the game again and inspect the hide touch controls preference.

There is no sound.

Interact with the game before testing sound. Browsers can require a user gesture before allowing game audio. Check the game’s master, effects, and crowd volume controls, the browser tab’s mute state, and the device’s volume or output device.

If one type of sound is missing, check its individual volume control instead of changing every setting at once. Try a short Free Play session after making the change. This keeps the test separate from an online connection problem.

Fullscreen does not open.

Use the Fullscreen button below the player or the fullscreen control inside the game. Browser support and permissions can differ by device. A browser may require the request to follow a direct click or tap, and a device may handle landscape orientation separately.

Esc normally leaves fullscreen or opens a game menu, depending on the current state. If you have exited fullscreen but the game is paused, choose Resume Game. You do not need to reload the entire website just to resume.

Online matches or party invitations will not connect.

Online play depends on the original Nitro Car service as well as your connection. Check the game’s region and connection messages. Try a bot match or Free Play: if those work while online play fails, the local graphics and basic game loading are probably working, and the remaining issue is more likely connected to the online service or network path.

For a party, copy the current code or invitation carefully and make sure everyone is using the intended game. If the original service is temporarily unavailable, reloading this website cannot create a replacement match server. You can use a local game mode while waiting and try the original service again later.
